With the advent of the Drag-flick in field hockey, the field hockey facemask has become a standard piece of protective equipment for all defensive players involved in defensive penalty corners during a game. So what are you looking for in a field hockey facemask-
1. It must be comfortable.
2. It must fit perfectly to your face and not be loose in any way
3. It needs to cover as much of the head as possible
4. It needs to be made off of a clear type high strength plastic so you can see out of it clearly
5. It must not fog up and have clear ventilation
6. It must allow for you to be able to speak clearly to your teammates.
You also want your facemask to be easily removable after the penalty corner has played out as you are not allowed to under the rule of hockey come outside the defensive area wearing the mask.
